Hi again, basically I've spent a week here during last August 2016 and would like to describe more about it. Sandakan is the second largest city (after KK city) and formerly known as "Elopura", meaning Beautiful Town given by British North Borneo Company.

The Agnes Keith House is a heritage house where it stores the life history during British North Borneo colonial. The entrance ticket is RM 2 for Malaysian adult and takes about 20 minutes walk uphill from Sandakan town.

The small hut serves as the entrance to the heritage house
This house was re-built from collaboration between Sabah Museum and Federal Department of Museums and Antiquities back in 2001. Later on, this house had turned into museum and as tourist attraction since 2004 till present.

(no photography was allowed inside the house but only knew it after that)

Similar to KK, Sandakan also serves a variety of tasty local delicacies which are shown in pictures below.

Seafood Bak Kut Teh
(the soup also can be requested in spicy flavour)

'Nasi Kuning-Ayam'

Roti Cobra (Ayam) which looks like 'roti canai' flooded with curry gravy

Known as UFO and only can be found in Sandakan
(Sold at 'Kilang Roti Mee Ngar'; an old-school bakery shop)

Buttermilk home-made bread

Portuguese egg tart

Wild durian with red-coloured flesh which is edible after cooked with oil or dry chilies and can be eaten with rice or spread as jam. Local call it as "Tempoyak".

Besides food, one can also see crocs in Sandakan! The Sandakan Crocodile Farm is located at 8th mile, Jln Labuk and the entrance fee is RM 10 each. According to Attraction in Malaysia website, this farm has 3000 reptiles in captivity, which is second biggest after Lok Kawi Zoo in KK city.

After that, a visit to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, which offers wildlife such as proboscis and silver leaf monkeys. The entrance fee is RM15 per adult and the sanctuary is located in the middle of palm oil plantation.

That's all for now, peeps! Hopefully this blog can provide some information on attraction in east coast of Sabah. Cheers!
